A critical part of our actities is to utilize already established lighthouse restorations groups who have a great deal of information on the nautical heroes who committed acts of bravery in the area of the lighthouse they are restoring and maintaining.
Finding dollars, people, and information to educate the world's general population along with documenting the bravery of the men and women who gave aid and who were first responders to the world's ships in life threatening situations is a huge job. We know the heroes were keepers based at lighthouses and life-savers based at life-saving stations but there are others so this job will takes time but we are working on it. Nautical Heroes Heritage Alliance (NHHA) is a public charity under the Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3) which means we have been throughly reviewed by the Internal Revenue Service and contributions to our organization are tax deductible for people in the USA.
If you want to help with this important task you can begin by becoming a NHHA member and/or donating. A one year's membership includes:
In the future exciting things like a book developed from our honor role, a video/motion picture presentations about these heroes, establishing a museum, and speakers bureau on the the subject of maritime first responders.
We are fiscally sponsoring a feature length motion drama about how the lighthouse keepers were thrown out in favor of the computer operating the lighthouse. See all about the movie at Keepers
